Dodger Stadium

We went to the game last weekend to watch the Dodgers play the Rockies. We were rooting for the Rockies, who of course lost...badly! Let's just say the Rockies make the O's look damn good!
Not too many stadiums have a view like this...palm trees and mountains.

There's Manny! While we grudgingly got to watch him hit 2 homers, it was way more fun to watch him get a big fat ERROR by missing an easy catch to allow the Rockies to score. Later, he missed another for 2 more Rockies runs. Way to go Manny!

The "Hollywood" like Dodger's sign.

View from our seats.

Rose Bowl

The Rose Bowl was only about 5min from Teresa's apartment in Pasadena, so we had to do a drive-by for the photo op.

Hollywood Blvd.

Yea Jack...my fave! It was really cool walking around in front of Graumann's Chinese Theater looking for the foot/handprints of stars past and present.

Brian's Oscar for "Best Husband"
My Mom's star on the walk of fame...didn't know she was so famous, did ya?!

Rodeo Drive

Glorious palm tree lined Rodeo Drive! We had some fun walking through the shops here. I tried on a 5+ carat sapphire ring with 1ct diamonds on each side at Cartier...and let me tell you, it did not look TOO big! Unfortunately, it cost about a year's salary, so I had to give it back.

This is what I will look like after my first facelift.

Hollywood sign

There it is! "Welcome to Hollywood! What's your dream? Everyone in Hollywood gotsa dream!"
We took a hike near the Griffith Observatory to get a better view of the sign.

Yes, that brown cloud would be the smog of LA. And I thought California was supposed to be so earthy-crunchy?!

Venice Beach

My first view of the Pacific Ocean! Other than by plane that is. This is Venice Beach looking toward Santa Monica. We went to LA for a weekend to visit our friend, Teresa...she is also a traveler who we met while working at JPH in Chicago.

Crazy Tree Man on stilts. He was more than a little creepy. Needless to say, Venice Beach was the place to be for some awesome people watching. We've never seen so many freaks in one place!

Nearing sunset...beautious!
