Our Crazy Weekend!

Wow! So, this one was a doozy! Friday night was relatively uneventful...happy hour, dinner, watched the opening ceremonies...nothing too exciting. Saturday morning we looked online for events and found Market Days...sounded like a pretty good street festival with a lot of vendors and a new area to check out. It wasn't until we paid and walked through the gate that we realized it was primarily a gay and lesbian street festival (Brian really didn't want me sharing this with everyone!) You'd think there would have been a warning somewhere, but nope. We have certainly never seen so many men in speedos walking around and playing Twister at that! It was certainly an experience!

We spent the afternoon playing mini-golf in Grant Park. I won! We also walked around Millineum Park...checked out the gardens and sculptures. Our evening was full of more surprises as we ventured out to Wicker Park to go to a Morroccan restaurant...that ended up being closed, as they were on their annual vacation. How could they be on vacation? Didn't anyone let them know we were coming? So, we made the best of it and walked around to find another restaurant and actually ended up at a pretty cool bar, The Boundary, that I had found online. They at least had a lot of TV's to watch some of the Olympics together.

Today was spent at North Ave. Beach. It was incredibly windy and pretty chilly in the morning, but warmed up by the afternoon. And got more crowded than any beach I have ever been to. Brian enjoyed the water, but given the wind and prospect of freezing my tail end off after getting out of the water, I chose to stay on dry land!

OK, I am laughing so hard at the vision of Brian at the festival.
