This is me on one of our scenic stops between Kilkenny and Cork. Ireland was incredibly beautiful and just as green as everyone imagines. There are also cows and sheep absolutely everywhere!

Blarney Castle: Unlike some of the castles we went in, this is not restored on the inside, but there is information to give you an idea of what the rooms were probably used for. We did take the stairs around and around to the top to kiss the Blarney Stone!

Brian kissing the Blarney Stone take 2! What an adventure this was...when we first got to the top of the castle it starting pouring down rain and resulted in rushed pictures and us getting soaked...this was not the experience I had envisioned! Plus, it's not too easy to hand upside down to kiss the stone with rain water going up your nose! Of course, when we got back to the bottom of the castle, it stopped raining and the sun came back out...so back up we went. We now have twice the gift of gab!

We took an optional excursion to Cobh or Queenstown, which was the last port of call of the Titanic. This is St. Colman's Cathedral, built in 1868.

Down at the bottom is the Port of Cobh, where the last Titanic made it's last stop before setting sail. We went through a sort of museum on the history of the port. This was a very quaint little town.
Ireland continued again on next post.
